This is a vintage silk scarf with images of Napoleon Bonaparte on horsseback in the center. He's surrounded with symbols of his reign and the names of important battles he fought. The scarf is mad of what I refer to as China silk; it's a very lightweight, supple silk but isn't typically washable. The scarf is green and purple-ish magenta with yellow bees, shields, yellow eagles in each corner and other important symbols of the Napoleonic era. The edges are finished with hand rolled hems facing to the right side of scarf. This probably was made in France and was a souvenir for tourists.

Measures  29” x 31 3/4"

Good condition EXCEPT for some pinholes (probably from the original owners cigarette ashes decades ago) and an odd, almost ripple look to the intense magenta dye near the edge.

In clean but AS FOUND condition- I don’t dare wash a China silk scarf with unstable but intense colored dye.
