This set of mid century mouse & cheese salt & pepper shakers is so cute! I think they're from the late 50s to very early 60s and they're marked "Japan" on the base. The cheese fits into the mouse's arms so it looks like the mouse is hugging the cheese. The plugs of each look like the original plastic (not brittle at all) and come out easily to fill. 
 
The mouse is 5" tall, the cheese stands alone. Sorry... couldn't resist; the cheese is 3" tall.
 
Both are pre-owned, used; in good condition with no noted flaws.
