This is an classic vintage suit jacket from the late 40s to mid 50s. Made of lightweight purple wool, it's fitted close thru the waist, has large rounded lapels and 4 large buttons. Labeled, "Rolaine Fashioned by Bettijean".
 
Pre-owned, used; in good condition with no noted flaws.
 
As usual with this era vintage clothing, there's no size given on the label. It's large on my size 4 mannequin so I'm calling it a modern medium. Please read the actual garment measurements given next--
Bust- 37" measured around at the underarms
Waist- 29"
Front shoulder to hem length- 22 1/2"
Sleeve length- 20"
Back width- 16"across measured 3" below the base of the collar, between the sleeve seams
Back width- 17 1/4" measured across the top shoulder seams and across the back of the collar
