This is a vintage light brown (sort-of taupe) silk fit & flare dress from the 1950s. A real beauty and a classic NEW LOOK post-war dress, it has a small waist with inverted pleats that flare out to an epic 172" hem!! Fitted thru the body with princess seams, the scooped neckline features a wide portrait collar and 2 bows in front. Short sleeves. The silk fabric is interlined with cotton but the dress itself has exposed pinked seams. There's an attached net half-slip to enhance the fullness... this dress is just LOVELY :-)
Originally sold at Nicholas Unger in Portland Oregon, a very upscale store with only the best brands. This looks like a famous designer's work from the 50s but there's no label attached.
